Zimmer Gardens specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of thoughtful gardens and property styling with maximum impact. Since launching Zimmer Gardens in 2007, Scott Zimmer has created distinguished residential landscapes, lush containers and inspiring business storefronts in Manhattan, New Jersey and the Hudson Valley.
Scott is an artist working in the garden. With professional experience in fine art and architecture, his tote bag is full of inspiration. Scott’s approach is to discover the balance between a well-tended and natural look. Considering your individual needs and budget, your gardens will receive the same attention-to-detail Scott lavishes on his own 1800 Victorian cottage.
Among his many clients, Scott creates plantings for private residences, Scenic Hudson,
Field+Supply and Kingston’s top destinations. He’s received rave reviews for his container planting presentations for local garden clubs and centers.
His love of envisioning outdoor spaces is informed by studies at The New York Botanical Garden, Garden Certificate, Bachelors of Architecture, Pratt, and an MFA in Ceramics, SUNY New Paltz. The layering of these experiences enhances his approach to creating gardens with a sense of place.
In the dormant season, Scott maintains a active paintingand ceramic studio in mid town Kingston. Before Zimmer Gardens, Scott worked in architectural restoration, Laison for Kohler Art Industry, WI, and as a Master Ceramicist, receiving national recognition for his garden-inspired ceramic work. Recently Scott has exhibited at Springfield College, MA, 2025, and at House SFW in Rhinebeck, NY, 2023
